Our Story: The CaYuen Workshop
The world has become increasingly fast, disposable, and distracted.
Many of the small rituals that once marked the beginning of the day have quietly disappeared, replaced by convenience, speed, and the expectation that everything should happen immediately.
Traditional wet shaving asks something different of us.
It asks us to slow down for a few minutes. To use our hands. To learn a skill. To care for our tools. To pay attention.
The CaYuen Workshop was founded in 2017 on the belief that those ideas are still worth preserving.
We create handcrafted lathering bowls, custom shaving brushes, artisan shaving soaps, and aftershave splashes for those who appreciate the old ways of doing things.
Not because they are the fastest.
Not because they are the easiest.
But because they are often the most rewarding expirence.
A well-made tool lasts longer. A practiced skill improves with time. A few quiet minutes spent preparing for the day are never wasted.
Beyond the products themselves, the workshop exists to share knowledge.
Traditional wet shaving is rich with techniques, traditions, and hard-earned lessons that are often overlooked in modern grooming. Though tutorials, articles, and product design, we hope to help keep that knowledge alive and pass it to the next generation of wet shavers.
The House of Forgotten Lore is our way of honoring that tradition-collecting stories, ideas, fragrances, and lessons inspired by the rituals and craftsmanship of earlier times.
We believe good tools should be made with care.
We believe skills are worth learning.
We believe wet shaving is a tradition that deserves to be preserved.
And, we believe that no matter how busy life becomes, a few quiet minutes spent taking care of yourself are never wasted.
Welcome to the CaYuen Workshop.
