At the Apothecary’s bench, his likeness is made manifest. Oils, tallow, and mango butter are tempered by heat and stirred by steady hand until they take the shape of true lather—rich, dense, and loyal to the blade. There is no factory goop pretending to be soap here, only the patient transmutation of raw matter into ritual form.
The King’s fragrance begins with the spark of citrus, bright as an invocation, then softens to violet and heliotrope—ethereal mists above swamp water. Clove and geranium bring the pulse of old rites, patchouli and pine exude primal mysticism, while a final trace of vanilla curls like smoke above cooling embers. With every shave, you are ensnared in a captivating elixir, evoking the essence of the Voodoo King, a magic that leaves all under your spell.
Each small batch is blended and cured under the Apothecary’s watch, released only when it meets his exacting standards. The full-size vessel offers space for a proper lathering dance.
This batch reflects the Apothecary’s original formula—crafted with shea butter and aloe. Future castings of the King will draw upon a new, mango-heavy base, richer still and made to honor his enduring legend.

beautiful, very well made, I took the large size but I think the smaller one is better for whipping soap… I want to use it more and be more precise for a further review

This is my second bowl from this merchant. I bought the large size bowl as I tend to use larger shaving brushes like the Simpson Chubby 2 and Chubby3. The shaving bowl works really well in generating lots of lather because of the ridges that are there in the bottom on the bowl. My usual routine is to fill the bowl with hot water and soak the shaving brush I plan to use that morning. After about a couple of minutes, I empty the bowl and load the shaving brush with soap or cream. Once loaded, I whisk the brush in this bowl to get oodles of lather. Being made of resin it keeps the warmth from the hot water and is very light as well. The colors are so unusual, it looks great just standing on your bathroom countertop. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a shaving bowl.
